A Collage Night on Care, Resourcing & Relational Economies
Facilitated by WEAV (Drusilla Roessle) and Nicole Civita (otherWise)
What if the economy isn’t a distant, abstract, realm of experts? What if it's really all about how humans share and meet needs. Something we are constantly shaping through how we care, share, neighbor, and nourish one another?
Join WEAV’s Drusilla Roessle and otherWise’s Nicole Civita for an evening of creative inquiry using collage as a tool for demystifying economic life and making visible the many ways resourcing already flows through our relationships, communities, and everyday practices. Together, we’ll explore how our lives are stitched together through gifts, exchanges, obligations, care work, creativity, and mutual aid — often in ways that are rendered invisible by typical economic narratives.
Through fresh framing, hands-on collage, guided reflection, and small group conversation, participants will articulate the challenging and creative realities of economic life circa 2026, while imagining oikonmia and visualizing what an economy rooted in care and wellbeing might look like if it were inherent to living in Vermont. Drawing inspiration from Civita’s RePatterning Economic Life work and Entangled Economics inquiry — alongside WEAV’s state-wide efforts to recenter Vermont's economy on wellbeing — this gathering invites participants to reimagine resourcing.
Expect prompts such as:
– What can I give without jeopardizing integrity?
– Do I know how to receive?
– How does one neighbor? How does one nourish?
– What do I need to remain in reciprocity?
– What does it mean to be faithful here, across time?
– And, with thanks to Adam Wilson: *How do we each live with — and through — the burden of gratitude?
No art experience required. All materials provided. Come curious, reflective, and ready to piece together new understandings of economic life — one image, one question, one conversation at a time.
