Welcome to our first otherGardens circle! In this first call, we’ll get to know each other by starting with the basics: we’ll all introduce ourselves with our relationship to nourishment and ecology. Then we’ll share what otherWise has been planning and envisioning for otherGardens, and as a group we’ll engage in some co-creative brainstorming for what the community might want otherGardens to be.

As of right now, our plan is to host two otherGardens circles each month: one for regular conversation, and one featuring a special guest. Of course, the guest Circles will be conversations as well, but there will be time in the beginning for the guests to present on whatever they choose (which is guaranteed to be something cool, inspiring, and/or radical).

Each otherGardens circle will be formally scheduled to last only an hour — we know how busy life can be, especially if you’re tending to relationships with the living world (farming, gardening, foraging, raising children, etc.) and we don’t want to contribute to screen exhuastion — but we will hold our virtual space open for 90 minutes for anybody who wants to stay beyond an hour.

We have lots of ideas for what we want to offer in this virtual space, and how to make this community a little more physical, embodied, or in-person, and we can’t wait to run them by you all! We’d love for you to join us as we kick off otherGardens!
