In our otherGardens conversations so far, we’ve featured produce farmers, cultural historians, food organizers, and mycelial healers. We’re once again picking another topic, though still remaining solidly rooted in our otherGardens nourishment and ecology ethic, and bringing on an herbalist and entrepreneur, Clarenda Stanley. Otherwise known as "Farmer Cee," she is a Black farmer, herbalist, and advocate for ethical business and sustainable living. She’s the founding CEO of Green Heffa Farms, an herb farm and CPG brand that celebrates the power of the living world to heal and nourish.
Cee started Heffa farms in the piedmont of North Carolina at age 42, after spending years in the corporate world. She and her team host community events, educational workshops, and of course, grow and harvest dozens of herbs from tea leaves to calendula to hemp. The farm follows organic regenerative practices, and the business is a certified B-Corp. Cee refuses to let their farm work be stressful, since the very purpose of their products is to relieve stress and encourage wellbeing. Cee is also another author publishing with Chelsea Green: her book, "The Black Girl’s Guide to Building a Boutique Farm", will release on June 2nd.
Join us for this otherGardens gathering as Farmer Cee shares the story of Green Heffa and how she changed mid-career to became a successful farmer, herbalist, and community organizer!
Entry to this community gathering if free for all and offered in the spirit of the gift.
