Living the Questions that Feed Us

In this upcoming otherGardens gathering, we’ll explore what inspires us to engage with food and the living world, guided by Fatuma Emmad’s questions.

  • When we pursue a deeper practice of nourishment and ecology, what are we doing it for? To feed ourselves, to prepare for supply chain shocks, to learn more about how our food is grown, to regenerate or rewild?
  • How do we know we’re working towards the ends we seek, and not perpetuating systems we want to avoid?
  • How should we think about balancing our curiosity, the need for human food, and the need for food and habitat for all other beings? Or, as Fatuma more succinctly phrased it, if we are going to farm, how do we farm in relationship rather than extraction?
